La Familia Counseling Services, a successful community-based mental health organization in Hayward has an exciting full-time opportunity for TWO well-qualified MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALISTS for Another Road to Safety (ARS)/ARS-Family Maintenance/Kinship Services pilot program. This program provides intensive prevention/early intervention services to families at risk for child abuse/neglect. You will provide direct outpatient, home-based mental health services . We are a relationship-based home visiting program and we provide intensive case management services to small caseload of families.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Masters Degree in social work or a related field; prefer license eligible (registered) • Two years of experience in community-based mental health/social services • Bi-lingual English/Spanish/multi-lingual skills preferred • Understanding of child/adolescent development, including infant growth and development. • Excellent writing skills/maintain accurate case documentation/prepare written reports. • Experience working with families using a home visiting model and neighborhood based work. • Experience doing case management with adolescents in a clinical or creative capacity. • Excellent ability to provide high-quality clinical assessments regarding client treatment needs, resource and referral needs. • Excellent ability to quickly assess and respond to crisis situations while adhering to all relevant laws and ethical codes governing conduct • Must have automobile in good working condition, valid California driver’s license, insurance and good driving record.
