Family Home Provider Coordinator



Reports to: Network Program Manager
Location: San Jose, CA

The Community Child Care Council (4C Council) is a non-profit, community-based agency that serves as the community childcare link for families and childcare professionals who live and work in Santa Clara County, California. The agency and its staff are proud to serve the Silicon Valley families, for more than 35 years, with the support of the California Department of Education and other funders. The 4C Council provides education, information, referrals, childcare payments, and family supportive services to over fifty thousand parents, children, early care and education providers each year. Position Summary:
Support the 4c Agency Network program with implementation of program policies and exemplary program standards processes. Recruit family child care providers for availability and accessibility of child care service. Insure coordination and collaboration of Infant/Toddler, preschool and school age children's growth and development, observations and assessments in the family child care setting. Provide technical assistance to maintain program standards for child care setting and to promote professional development and goal setting with family Child Care Providers. Maintain and update provider program contract documents files and participation requirements to meet the 4C agency compliance such as information on rate services, licensing, agency agreements, and provider profiles.

Example of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a coordinator to assist with the program functions or projects relating to provider services.
  • Perform administrative support by assisting in implementing the Desired Results components.
  • Prepare required reports, dissemination of written programmatic information and guidance materials to correspond with Network Program contract requirements.
  • Complete Family Child Care direct on-site consultation on scheduled site visits, handle providers or parents concerns, and children's individualized need's plans.
  • Instruct providers on maintaining calibration with parent regarding childrens learning plan on-going and on going child growth and development and support with parent conferences.
  • Attend meeting to provide or obtain information.
  • The duties listed above are intended to provide an example of the general routine and level of work being performed. Incumbents may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Include:
  • Specific course work in early childhood development is required.
  • Experience working with children in a Title 5 program.
  • Ability in completing Desire Results Developmental Profile and Harms Environmental Rating Scales.
  • Child Development Site Supervisor permit or a Master Teacher Permit
  • Experience supervising or mentoring others.
  • Ability to work with community groups and task forces.
  • Ability to speak in public, write reports, and prioritizes and complete multiple tasks.
  • Must work positively, cooperatively and supportively with agency personnel.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and descriptively is mandatory.
  • Ability to work with diversified staff and understanding the problems and issues facing families from a variety of ethnic and economic communities is essential.
  • Work with minimum supervision is required.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is required

    License or Other Requirements:
    Must have access to a dependable car with minimum legally required insurance coverage, and possess a current valid California driver license. Must be willing to travel to meetings and workshops.
