MentalHealth Clinical Supervisor, Family and Children Program Established in 1973, Asian Americans for Community Involvement is Santa Clara County’s largest nonprofit health and human service organization targeting Asian and Pacific Islander American communities. We are seeking qualified candidates to fill this open position.
Job Summary: Responsible for one hour/week of clinical supervision to assigned mentalhealth staff. Will also be required to assist with weekly consultation sessions, clinical trainings, and provide up to 20 hours/week of direct services to clients. Reports to the Director of MentalHealth Programs.
Specific Functions
Clinical Supervision: Provide 1 hour of weekly clinical supervision to assigned mentalhealth staff. These weekly supervision sessions will provide for oversight, approval and coaching for all cases served by each non-licensed mentalhealth staff member. Clinical supervision will encompass all aspects of mentalhealth service: (e.g. intake/assessment diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment interventions, charting, case management, consultation and case closing). Assist clinical staff with crisis intervention.
Clinical Consultation: Provide assistance and co-facilitation with other clinical supervisors, the Director of MentalHealth Programs, and the medical director for 2 hours each week of clinical consultation/case presentations for all mentalhealth staff. The goals for the clinical supervision are to 1) increase the clinical skill capacity of all mental health staff, 2) train and/or update all mental health staff in charting procedures, 3) train all mental health staff in culturally specific issues relevant to the delivery of mental health services, 4) assist individual mental health staff with cases they present and 5) cross-train staff to build skill capacity for working with multiple population categories. Provide consultation services to the community and related agencies.
Direct Mental Health Services: Provide up to 20 hours/week of direct mental health services to clients. Services to include intake, assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual/family/group counseling, case management and case charting.
Management: Coordinate provision of services with other program elements, related community mental health service agencies, local schools, private care providers and treatment facilities. Assist in telephone triaging of client/family member/ other provider inquiries/ concerns regarding mental health services and clinical care. Maintain and make recommendations for modifications to practice policies and procedures in areas related to clinical services. Coordinate referrals to program and evaluate appropriateness based on admissions/medical necessity criteria. Assist in interviewing and hiring of staff and interns. Perform performance feedback to program staff on a regular basis. Participate in and ensure continuing training/education for clinical staff.
Qualifications Licensed MFT, LCSW or Ph.D/Psy. D. Two to three years of post-license clinical experience. Two to three years of supervisory experience. Ability to communicate well with people of various cultural, professional and experiential backgrounds. Bilingual in Asian language a plus. Ability to lead, direct and manage clinical staff. Knowledge of laws and ethical standards pertaining to clinical care. Excellent written and verbal skills. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
