The mission of Hamilton Family Center is to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Through a Housing First approach, we provide a continuum of housing solutions and comprehensive services that promote self-sufficiency for families and individuals, and foster the potential of children and youth.
Hamilton Family Center, a nationally recognized non-profit, has been working to end homelessness for over 24 years. We are one of the largest providers of housing options, eviction prevention assistance, shelter, and home-based support services for homeless families in San Francisco.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement multifaceted annual fundraising plan to meet yearly income goals; supervise all aspects of the plan; monitor progress toward goals. Research, strategize and write grant proposals for government funding; complete all associated budgets, acknowledgements, reports, and renewal applications. Cultivate relationships with existing donors at all levels, and lead the agencys efforts to identify and cultivate new prospects on an ongoing basis. In partnership with the Development Associate, research foundation and corporate prospects, oversee preparation of grant submissions. Develop and oversee production of fundraising and public relations materials, including: HFC website, direct mail appeals, newsletters, and annual report. Field inquiries from news media and provide guidance on responding to requests for information about the organization. Plan and execute donor recognition and cultivation events. In partnership with the Executive Director, engage the Board in committee work and in donor identification, cultivation and special event participation. Work closely with Executive Director, Fiscal Director and Director of Programs to develop the annual budget. Supervise full-time Development Associate. Participate in the planning of our annual signature event via the Event Committee. Attend regularly scheduled management team meetings; represent Hamilton at Bidders Conferences and in the community as needed. Attend Board meetings as needed
Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Minimum B.A from a four year college or university is required; M.A. a plus. 5-7 years of demonstrated success in fundraising is required. Exceptional writing, research and communication skills. Demonstrated success in writing City, State, and Federal grants. Proven skill at designing, implementing, and concluding successful fundraising projects; demonstrated ability to meet annual income goals. Solid experience with budget development in either non-profit or for-profit settings. Excellent time and project management skills with a results-driven approach. Successful experience with non-profit boards Highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent oral presentation skills. Superior networking and planning skills, combined with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines. Knowledge of Bay Area foundations a plus Proficiency with donor database software, such as Razors edge. Understanding of Family Poverty and Homelessness
