The Program Coordinator will provide key leadership and management of day-to-day operations of health education & outreach staff. He/She create procedures and processes for outreach/health education, as well as prepare ongoing training modules. This person is responsible for prevention key functions in health education such as family planning, prenatal and pediatric care, and other providing strategic support to health prevention services. The Program Coordinator will develop and implement outreach, marketing, public relations, community affairs, and related special events programs to promote the image and services of KHEIR Center. As part of their responsibilities, this person will be responsible for building and maintaining ongoing relationships and partnerships with individuals, groups, and organizations representing the community served by KHEIR. He/She will assume responsibility for major projects, provide guidance and supervision to department staff, and implement policy and procedure to meet the organization’s long term and short term objectives. This person will report to the Chief Clinical Officer.
Primary Responsibilities: • Manage and coordinate daily operations of health education and outreach program including assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities, policies, and resources. • Develop and implement outreach, marketing, public relations, community affairs, and related special event programs to promote the image and services of KHEIR Center. • Build and maintain ongoing relationships and partnerships with individuals, groups, and organizations representing the community served by KHEIR. • Supervise staff to guarantee organization’s mission objectives are met and ensuring that services are provided efficiently according to contractual obligations and within budget. • Guide and direct staff in the development, implementation, promotion, and financial aspects of the organization’s outreach/marketing and health education services. • Supervise activities and operations to ensure that they are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws. • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications • Master’s Degree in Public Health or Health Education preferred, but not required. • 3+ years of relevant post-graduate work experience. • Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory experience and leadership development. • Demonstrated skills in supervising and training professional and community staff. • Experience working in a community health center setting preferred. • Knowledgeable in health behavior theories, adolescent and child development, prevention education, and health risks affecting immigrant communities. • Skills in needs assessment, program planning, implementation, and evaluation. • Excellent skills in group facilitation and training. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Work, Power Point, and Excel. • Bilingual (Korean or Spanish) preferred, but not required.
