The Ben Franklin Academy seeks a part-time Hispanic Recruitment Director to extend our reach into the Latino community, advancing the school’s name recognition and increasing the school’s position in the Atlanta private school market. The ideal candidate would be at least bilingual, if not trilingual, with Spanish as the first language. He/she should understand the benefit of diversity for independent schools and appreciate and understand the mores and customs of other cultures and communities. He/she should be able to communicate well through speech and writing the school’s mission and initiatives. The ideal candidate would also have a minimum of an undergraduate degree, strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills as well as computer skills.
The Hispanic Recruitment Director will:
● Attend a number of functions for BFA like the Latino Summit, the Latin Fever Ball, and the Annual Campañeros Awards Luncheon, among others;
● Meet with directors of various Hispanic organizations to identify possible connections to families that need BFA (Ben Franklin Academy) for their children;
● Confer with directors and coordinators of international centers at area schools and counselors of high schools with Hispanic students to identify Latino students who could benefit from one-on-one instruction at BFA;
● Invite leaders in the Latino business and educational communities for tours and small luncheons at the school with key administrators and the Recruitment Director;
● Work with prospective families (translating if necessary) and the Admissions Committee;
● Help BFA with its marketing and public relations efforts, including sending press releases and articles to local publications, such as Mundo Hispanico, Pasos, and Páginas Amarillas;
● Strengthen our outreach to Hispanic educators from local colleges and universities;
