STAND! seeks an entry level Grant Writer to be a key member of the Grants Team, responsible for grant writing and proposal development for the programs of STAND! Against Domestic Violence.

Essential duties include: 1- Research and contact prospective grant funding sources to assess compatibility with agency goals 2-Cultivate and maintain good working relationships with funding sources 3-Write and manage proposals and letters of inquiry for presentation to potential funders 4-Gather and prepare all ancillary materials to accompany grants (budgets, bios, charts etc.) 5-Work with the management team and program staff to develop proposal/program goals; work with finance staff for budget preparation 6-Report to funders on status of secured grants 7-Monitor status of funded projects through program staff 8-Work as a member of a development team assisting staff in implementation of other activities as needed 9-Represent STAND! to funding agencies and the public Secondary Duties: 1-Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications:
1- B.A. in social science or two years demonstrated progressively responsible experience in a multi-faceted, fast-paced development department
2-Excellent oral and written communication skills
3-Grant research skills, preferably honed at a social service agency
4-Ability to synthesize verbal and written sources of information and data into coherent proposals that directly respond to funder priorities and application requirements.
5-Ability to work with agency staff to develop persuasive, high quality proposals.
6-Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing for accuracy before final proposal submission.
7-Calm and composed in working to meet critical deadlines.
8-Ability to work on multiple projects / proposals simultaneously.
9-Excellent organizational skills.
10-Flexible schedule
11-Consistency, punctuality, initiative and enthusiasm
12-Ability to work in a multicultural community-based organization
13-Valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance, and clean driving record
14-Employment contingent upon clear fingerprint and criminal history check
15-Employment contingent upon successful completion of U.S. Department of Justice Form I9
16- Continued employment contingent upon successful completion of STAND!’s Domestic Violence Dynamics Training
Preferred Qualifications:
1-Knowledge of domestic violence preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range DOE. Generous benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, matched retirement plan, paid vacation, sick leave and personal holidays. This is a 40 hours a week position.
