Clinical Director, Youth and Family Counseling Program



Location: Novato, CA

Purpose: Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Clinical Director is responsible for the clinical and administrative management of the NYCs mental health counseling services, including the internship training program.

Essential Functions: Job requires ability to travel among various work locations; walking up and down stairs; repetitive motion, i.e. computer work; standing/sitting for long periods of time; and ability to lift and move small items of up to 25 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:
The major responsibilities are:
Supervision and Training of Clinical Staff and Interns
Recruit and hire interns/trainees and staff counselors
Oversee work of Clinical Supervisors and conduct clinical supervision (group and/or individual), as necessary
Supervise the PCIT Program Coordinator and the Program and Administrative Coordinator
Conduct regular evaluations of interns/trainees and clinical staff
Provide ongoing support and consultation to interns/trainees and clinical staff
Develop, lead and implement training program, with support of PCIT Program Coordinator, Program and Administrative Coordinator, and Clinical Supervisors
Be available for crisis management

Program Management
Direct intake and case assignment process, with support of the Program and Administrative Coordinator
Ensure compliance of ethical and legal program standards, as well as regulatory requirements involved in the provision of mental health services
Assist in development of annual program budget and provide oversight of financial activity on a monthly basis, with support from Associate Director
Be responsible for clinical record keeping, statistics and billing, with support of the Program and Administrative Coordinator
Participate in internal and external meetings, as assigned; including Management Team, Program Coordinating Team, etc.
Serve as a resource to other program managers regarding best practices in supporting youth and families in crisis, obligations regarding mandated reporting, and participate in coordinating services for clients participating in multiple agency programs
Assist with grant and program development activities
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director

Job Certifications: Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a Master degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field Licensed MFT or LCSW for at least two years Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising and/or training clinical staff Minimum of 2 years experience in program management, development, and administration Demonstrated ability to work with children and families from diverse socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds Must posses excellent communication, organizational and computer skills Physical examination indicating good health
