Executive Director, MyWay/Services for Life
MyWay is an innovative program for seniors who want to live independently at home as they age. The prototype will begin operating in northwest Philadelphia neighborhoods in late 2009. Ralston Center, an organization engaged with issues of aging since 1817, and NIM (Neighborhood Interfaith Movement), a community organization working in northwest Philadelphia since 1969, are collaborating on the project. The Executive Director reports to the Board of a separately incorporated nonprofit.
The Executive Director is responsible for working with the Board to envision and manage the development and implementation of MyWay. Program elements include marketing, service development and delivery, client acquisition and retention, financial management, personnel supervision (part-time, full-time, and vendor/consultant). The Executive Director will put the program into practice and provide primary staff support to the Board.
MyWay/Services for Life will deliver a wide range of affordable non-medical services to seniors to make it safe and feasible to continue to live at home, with an emphasis on quality of life. The program is open to any senior, but targeted to be affordable for those of modest means. There is no membership or sign-up fee.
The Executive Director will have a passion for and belief in the mission of MyWay and the founding organizations and a proven track record as an entrepreneurial manager. The position requires strategic agility, excellent oral and written communications skills, and personal and professional integrity. Qualifications include Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited school; 7 to 10 years experience in program or community development or related field; knowledge of the principles and practice of non-profit management, and a valid US drivers license. Experience with older adults is desirable.
