Position Announcement: Development and Marketing Manager
The Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin (Center) has served Marin County for over fifty years providing resources to Marin’s nonprofit organizations and connecting volunteers with community needs. The Center is a one-stop shop for nonprofit executives and staff, board members, and volunteers. Our main program areas include workshops, leadership programs, volunteer services, executive transition, consulting and community-wide events including the Heart of Marin Awards and the Marin Human Race.

We are seeking a vibrant individual to join our team as Development & Marketing Manager.
The Development & Marketing Manager is responsible for grants research, development and reporting of grants. Targeted funding opportunities include board development, leadership programs, nonprofit training and development, disaster preparedness, youth and older adult civic engagement programs and volunteerism. Other development projects include: special events, corporate sponsorship, and an individual donor program.
The Development & Marketing Manager ensures the Center is recognized and represented in the community through branding, creative marketing and outreach. Marketing responsibilities include carrying out the Center’s marketing/communication plan, developing promotional materials for events and ongoing programs, writing articles for the Center’s monthly newsletter, writing press releases, and oversight of the Center’s website and bi-monthly Leadership Journal.
Requirements: • Demonstrated track record of successful proposal and grant writing • Excellent critical thinking skills • Demonstrated writing expertise (grants, articles, letters to the editor) • Strong organizational and planning skills • The ability to be both creative and detail-oriented • Facility with desktop publishing software • Experience with database management • Web maintenance and design • Excellent interpersonal skills • Familiarity with the Marin nonprofit community • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituents • Bilingual ability desired
General Responsibilities: • Research, develop and write grants ● Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including reports • Corporate Sponsorship Programs (Nonprofit Conference, Human Race, Heart of Marin and other events) • Individual donor program • Development Professionals Affinity Group • Resource Development ad-hoc committee • Fundraising events/programs • Implement marketing/communication plan • Write and proof press releases, articles, promotional materials • Maintain website • Develop and oversight of Center collateral materials • Other duties as assigned
