ATHENS AREA HOMELESS SHELTER POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Athens Area Homeless Shelter (AAHS) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization and work with a motivated Board of Directors to develop and implement a growth agenda. The Executive Director is responsible for the daily management and operations of the agency, managing and improving services and programs, maintaining a strong funding base, representing the agency in the community, and assuring effective working relationships with entities essential to the success of the organization. The AAHS primarily provides shelter and services to women and their children. Full capacity in the current facility is seven families. In addition, the Shelter administers a job training program that serves over 350 individuals each year. Due to the closing of the Athens-based Navy Supply School, and earmarked federal funds, AAHS stands to see its services and mission expand. Qualified candidates should have strong executive, administrative and interpersonal skills, distinguished by an ability to lead and inspire others in a changing workplace environment. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Social Work or a related field with at least two years of significant administrative experience, including personnel supervision, fiscal management and control, and grant writing and management. Those without a graduate degree but extensive experience in non-profit management will be considered.
