National Director Victim Services


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Develop and ensure the implementation of the Victim Services strategy for the organization. Oversee MADD’s strategic direction for serving more victims and expanding outreach to potential referral sources.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee and direct the Victim Services department in the development, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of Victim Services on a national and local level.

2. Initiate victim services grant funding requests and manage ongoing grants within the department.

3. Ensure operational objectives in the Victim Services department are in conjunction with the overall MADD strategic plan.

4. Prepare and manage the department budget.

5. Provide assistance to the Affiliate and State organizations in developing and delivering victim services in their areas of responsibility in accordance with MADD’s strategic plan.

6. Network with other similar agencies and organizations to communicate the MADD mission.

7. Direct and supervise the activities of the individuals within the Victim Services department and ensure service is provided in accordance with MADD standards.

8. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum of five years of progressive management experience in the delivery of victim services at a non-profit organization required

2. Bachelor’s degree required in social work, psychology, counseling or related field, Master’s degree preferred

3. Strong communication skills, including presentation and written communication skills.

4. Strong philanthropic background including the knowledge of managing internal and volunteer resources.

5. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Independent judgment and the ability to work with little supervision are necessary.

6. Ability to travel and work flexible hours when necessary.
