The following position is currently available in the Fund Development Department. All candidates must have a good driving record and a valid California Driver License.
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF INDIVIDUAL GIVING
Full-time (40 hours/week position) in Five Acres' Fund Development Department responsible for managing and coordinating the successful solicitation of individual donors and meeting an annual target goal through personal solicitation, direct mail and email marketing, including annual campaigns, mailed appeals, email blasts, and social media campaigns. Manages the in-kind gifts program, helps ensure accurate individual records, and assists with Fund Development's special events. Essential duties include:
•Meeting annual target fundraising goal of $350,000 from individual donors as part of $1.6 million overall annual goal; •Managing a portfolio of individual donors, identifying prospects from annual campaigns, special events and other means, then cultivating, soliciting and stewarding them; •Managing and coordinating direct mail solicitations, including two annual donor solicitations (end of the year and spring campaign). Writes the appeals and oversees graphic design, print and coordination of mailing; •Works with Marketing and Communications staff to strategize content and assist in writing for quarterly newsletter, regular e-blasts and website updates, and also helps strategize and implement social media efforts; •Works with Event staff to strategize and help plan fund raising and friend raising events. Utilizes events to identify and cultivate new donor prospects through strategic follow-up; •Maintains records and mailing lists necessary to support individual giving activities and carefully tracks and reports on results of those activities; •Leads holiday food and toy drives and ensures that all in-kind gifts from individuals during the course of the year are properly acknowledged. Utilizes holiday drives to identify and cultivate new donor prospects through strategic follow-up; •Manages the gift acknowledgment process for individual donors, drafting templates and boilerplate text for acknowledgment letters; •Performs additional duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree, a working knowledge of fund development department procedures, strong writing skills, excellent people skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively as a team player, are all required. Superior computer skills, specifically utilizing Microsoft Office programs, Raiser's Edge (or a similar fund raising software), and other programs and tools, such as Constant Contact, Facebook and Twitter, also required.
