Position: Program Coordinator Reports To: Program Director Classification: Exempt / Full Time Compensation: $38,000 - $42,000 annually + allowance for health benefits Hours: This is a full-time position; 40% of the time will be spent at the administrative office, 60% of the time will be spent at offsite locations (i.e. MHSA meetings, program sites, etc.). Mission: NAMI San Francisco's mission is to advocate for a life of quality and dignity by providing education, resources and emotional support to families and those affected by mental illness (brain disorders). We strive to end discrimination and stigma for all those persons affected by these illnesses through broader education and collaboration with the whole community. Background: NAMI San Francisco is a strong mission-based organization with a volunteer board, two staff (Program Director and Administrative Assistant), and a group of dedicated volunteers. For more information about the organization, please visit our website at Responsibilities/Tasks: 1. With the Program Director, establish sustainable processes for management and coordination of all aspects of core programs, with a particular focus on managing the MHSA grant-funded programs: Peer-to-Peer and Family-to-Family to be offered within the SF City (CBHS) Mental Health clinics. Maintain thorough knowledge of these programs and standard operating procedures. 2. Support partnerships with key stakeholders to promote NAMI programs and for specific projects. 3. Responsible for program outreach/recruitment, implementation and evaluation. Proactively monitor processes to identify opportunities for improvements for member service and efficiency. 4. Coordinate events, meetings, program orientations, trainings as necessary. Some evenings and occasional weekends are required. Manage planning and communication of all program-related meetings as necessary, (including but not limited to logistical management), preparation of materials, coordination of speakers and class facilitators, and tracking of program participants. 5. Establish and maintain processes for supervision/coordination of NAMI and CBHS staff in collaboration with NAMI’s Volunteer Coordinator. . 6. Attend NAMI staff meetings, NAMI and mental-health related community events, MHSA networking and contract meetings. Engage in education/training. 7. Track activity of NAMI staff , program participants, volunteers and program progress for reporting purposes as required by NAMI SF and funding partners. 8. Establish efficient structures and processes for NAMI programs, services and administration. 9. Develop program evaluation procedures and materials to help determine the impact of NAMI programs and assess and address significant gaps 10. Contribute to other NAMI projects/duties as necessary. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 3-5 years relevant experience in program coordination and staff supervision. • Experience in coordinating grant-funded programs and its requisite reporting. • Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to respond to changing environments. • Solution-driven, able to anticipate and effectively address issues and develop solutions. • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team setting. • Use of effective communication- orally and written. Bilingual or multilingual language proficiency is preferred. • Cultural Competency to interact with diverse populations, including mental health care settings. • Advanced Microsoft Office suite proficiency and ability to learn new software. This includes familiarity with data base management for reporting purposes.
