The Greater San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of LLS seeks an experienced and high energy leader to manage the chapter's School & Youth, Pennies for Patients Program.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary (nonprofit) health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.
Basic Function: Works to create, manage, and implement all fundraising activities for LLS School & Youth Programs (S&Y).
Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage all elements of the S&Y programs to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. • Develop fundraising implementation plans for all S&Y program components, including a program timeline, recruitment plan, budget, communication plan & school visit logistics. • Secure and conduct school visits (e.g. one-on-one and student group planning meetings, kick-off assemblies, drop by visits) within chapter area. Extensive local travel required January through March and light local travel in the fall and spring. • Coordinate and maintain S&Y campaign correspondence, financial records and statistical reports and facilitate campaign records, evaluations and reports. • Oversee hiring, training, and supervision of S&Y temporary staff, who are hired to recruit school for the S&Y Programs • Prepare and coordinate S&Y campaign correspondence (via phone, web, print, and fax) to cultivate and retain working partnerships with teachers and school administrators. Campaign correspondence to include: o Penny Times Newsletters o Blast Faxes o Monthly Exact Target Newsletters o Welcome Packets o Thank You Packets • Localize national templates for the following materials: o Recruitment Brochure o Coordinator Guides o Dear Parent Letter o Honored Hero Poster o Dear Educator Letter • Oversee and actively participate in school recruitment, taking primary responsibility for spring recruitment efforts and recruiting past-participating schools • Oversee and participate in ongoing communication and recommitment efforts through phone calls and emails • Develop S&Y incentive structure and oversee implementation for top fundraising schools (e.g., banners, trophies) • Cultivate and maintain relationships with top fundraising schools to encourage annual participation and increase fundraising averages • Maintain partnerships with existing sponsors/supporters and leverage new relationships which result in increased revenue. • Secure Honored Heroes for each school year. Develop and implement ideas to incorporate the mission into School & Youth Programs. • Assist with chapter events and other related duties as assigned. • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and its programs to address them.
Requirements: • Required minimum education - Bachelor's Degree. • Minimum of 2-3 years of fundraising, sales, marketing, or development experience or relevant nonprofit experience. • Superior relationship management skills--Able to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of personalities and leadership styles. • Highly organized and very detail oriented with a professional demeanor. • Capable of multi-tasking, and balancing multiple priorities effectively. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to use sound judgment. • Flexibility, as well as willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends throughout the year. • Experience maintaining annual budgets, as well as forecasting and projecting revenue and expenses. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Demonstrate resourcefulness, promotions savvy and problem solving acumen. • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, goal-oriented and committed to excellence. • Strong writing, computer, word processing, and database management skills, including maintenance of web site content. • Ability to deliver effective presentations to (K-12th grade) students and school educators • Must hold a valid driver’s license • Extensive local, chapter-wide travel is required, especially January through March; must be willing to attend and facilitate school visits • Managerial experience is required
Position Details:
This individual will report to the Deputy Executive Director. The Campaign Manager position is a full time, salaried position. LLS offers competitive wages and benefits.
