SAN FRANCISCO JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL DEVELOPMENT and MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR
ORGANIZATION PROFILE The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival (SFJFF), the world's first and largest of its kind, is a groundbreaking year-round media arts organization championing independent Jewish cinema. Our renowned summer Festival screens for three weeks in five Bay Area cities, attracting 30,000 viewers to a broad showcase of international Jewish-subject films. SFJFF also presents year-round screenings and offers an acclaimed youth media education program, online resources, and the Jewish Film Forum, a donor affiliation program supporting SFJFF’s mission.
POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Development Director, the Development and Membership Coordinator manages and maintains the donor database; processes and acknowledges contributions; tracks campaign progress and generates reports; ensures donor benefit fulfillment; and coordinates data and logistics for fundraising activities including direct mail campaigns, special events and donor communications, supports Development Department at Festival events as needed. Experience with Raisers Edge is essential.
This is a full time year round position. Work schedules require expanded hours and flexibility during peak periods and to be available for major SFJFF events including the Signature Summer Film Festival. Status: Full-time 35 hours per week Salary DOE Reports to: Development Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Development Database and Donor Tracking -Develop and maintain donor and prospect information in SFJFF’s Raiser’s Edge database and ensure its accuracy and timeliness. -Process and acknowledge all gifts, including checks and credit card charges, in-kind contributions and matching gifts. -Maintain and track annual grants calendar of deadlines for submissions and reports, and collaborate with development staff for timely fulfillment of grant reporting and submission requirements. -Produce timely and accurate reports for use by the development staff and Board of Directors, including gift reports, campaign tracking reports, in-kind contribution reports, and pledge and matching gift tracking reports. -Coordinate direct mail campaigns from list generation through serving as a contact with the mail house -Serve as administrative point of contact for the organization’s Future Focus Fund; maintain and update lists of current and prospective FFF members; generate LOIs and other materials for stewards as needed. -Design and produce development department promotional and informational materials as needed.
Membership Coordination -Work with development department to help develop and implement programs to attract and retain members; manage and track donor benefits fulfillment; respond in a timely fashion to member inquiries via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence.
Website maintenance/Graphic Design -Update Development-specific pages on sfjff.org (Donation page, Sponsorship page, etc.). -Design graphics, logos, brochures, images, etc. as needed for organizational website and E-newsletters.
Festival and Special Events -Maintain mailing lists and coordinate lists from development department for special events. -Work with design and web consultants to ensure accurate sponsor recognition in print and on the web. -May train and direct temporary seasonal Festival staff working on donor benefits fulfillment activities. -Assist with planning and implementation of special events, including specific Festival benefits management. -Assist with the planning and coordination of special events, including invitations, guest lists, on-site logistics related to event registration and specific Festival benefits management as needed. -Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be detail oriented and accurate; have the ability to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; handle confidential information with discretion; work effectively with staff, volunteers, donors and the public; 3-5 years of administrative experience and/or non-profit development experience; experience with Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows is essential.
