POSITION: PHILANTHROPIC ADVISOR Reports to Director, Center for Family Philanthropy
The Philanthropic Advisor is responsible for assisting the Director of the Center for Family Philanthropy in all aspects of the Foundation’s donor engagement strategies and programs. This position will primarily be responsible for developing deep, sustained relationships with donors and their families to make The Community Foundation the donors’ primary philanthropic partner. This entails providing excellent, timely and integrated service.
Job Responsibilities •Acts as personal contact and liaison for assigned portfolio of donors, to manage individual philanthropy through their respective funds, as well as conduct pro-active outreach to them •Implements strategies to increase engagement of donors and to assure complete donor satisfaction •Develops individual philanthropic strategies through segmentation for each donor; and specific philanthropic plans as appropriate •Provides initial gift planning, fund financial structure and succession planning advice to donors •Implements donor engagement projects and programs as assigned related to education, outreach, and appreciation, including Extra Wish grant program •Works with staff to connect individual donors to nonprofit organizations within their respective areas of interest (different strategies for Center for Family Philanthropy and non-Center for Family Philanthropy donors) •Coordinates site visits to, and update reports from, nonprofit organizations, including those with agency or designated funds, for individual donors and donor groups •Documents engagement information about assigned donors in Foundation database(s) •Oversees updated donor contact information maintenance in Foundation databases •Assists with grants processing and due diligence for donor advised and designated funds •Troubleshoots donor fund-related matters •Conducts research and produces reports for grantmaking •Represents the Foundation at events as required and appropriate •Assists with special projects as requested
Qualifications and Experience •Bachelor’s degree required •5+ years experience in the nonprofit or financial services with special emphasis on account management and customer relations •Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills •Meeting facilitation experience highly desired •Excellent management and organizational skills •Self-motivated, detail and results oriented •High level proficiency in use of CRM/database technology, social media and Microsoft Office suite
Compensation To be determined based upon experience and qualifications. Eligible for health and benefits plan.
