POSITION: Gift Planner

Reports to Director of Gift Planning

The Gift Planner is responsible for assisting the Director of Gift Planning in the continuing development and implementation of the Foundation’s comprehensive planned and major giving program. The primary focus of this position will be relationship building with local professional advisors (attorneys, accountants, life insurance advisors, and financial/investment advisors). In addition, the position coordinates closely with the Director of Gift Planning on the development, implementation and monitoring of alternative prospective donor pipelines.

Job Responsibilities

•Assists in implementing annual gift planning strategies including goals and budget for the program
•Identifies, cultivates, solicits and tracks prospective donors through personal meetings, referrals, trade group cultivation, presentations, telephone, publications, special events and mailings, primarily directed to professional advisors
•In collaboration with Director of Gift Planning implements and monitors development of alternative prospective donor pipelines
•Assists in managing advisory meetings and events
•Prepares calculations using PGCalc software
•Represents Foundation at various community activities and events
•Maintains quality record keeping/tracking system on planned and major gifts
•Identifies professional advisors in metro region and conducts 150-200 face to face visits per year.

Qualifications and Experience

•Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred – Professional designation(s) such as JD, CPA, CFP, CLU, ChFC highly desirable.
•5-7 years experience planned giving/financial planning/sales; community foundation experience preferred
•Technical knowledge of planned and complex giving
•Self-motivated and results oriented
•Strong organizational skills, especially for planning and coordination of complex gift transactions and multi-level professional advisor relationships
•Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with donors and professional advisors
•Proficiency with CRM database management systems
•Team player, able to facilitate and/or be a productive member of sub-departmental, departmental and cross-functional teams.
•Superior writing, public speaking and presentation skills


Compensation
To be determined based upon experience and qualifications. Eligible for health and benefits plan. There is no relocation benefit.
