With them by our side, we have completed more than 350 projects providing over $71 million to the park. Our visitor services, trail and lookout restorations, education and naturalist programs reach millions of individuals each year who leave inspired by new knowledge and experience of one of the most beautiful places on earth, Yosemite National Park.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Annual Giving Manager (AGM) reports to the Associate Director of Annual Giving and Operations and is responsible for donor outreach and communications to support the annual fund program. The AGM will provide high tech / high touch interaction to inform and engage a large number of committed donors with the advanced use of our Raiser’s Edge database. Insightful and timely collaboration and coordination with the Development Director, Associate Director of Planned Giving, Institutional Giving Officer and Major Gifts Officer will provide donors with additional opportunities to increase their impact and involvement, such as our capital campaign project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Support, coordinate and manage donor communications to recognize, inform and further Yosemite Conservancy engagement
• Provide development related content for the Yosemite Conservancy website and creatively manage the special donor-related “My Story” website by obtaining / publishing donor stories and highlighting Park projects
• Implement in-park solicitations and list development strategies for new contributions through collaborating with El Portal staff and Park partners
• Coordinate all regular outgoing donor acknowledgement correspondence related to annual giving, tribute and monthly donor programs through our mailing house and personalized in-house acknowledgement letters
• Provide the personal touch by making personal thank you phone calls to donors
• Manages the development communications and outreach project calendar helping to ensure all project parties (internal and external) are timely informed and participating
• Supports the Associate Director with the direct mail campaign

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum 3 years of experience working in a development position, preferably in annual giving
• Bachelor degree required; Marketing, Communications, Journalism/English degrees preferred
• Commitment to the mission of Yosemite Conservancy; Knowledge of and interest in Yosemite National Park, the outdoors and conservation
• Proven success in a sophisticated annual gifts program; ability to assess and measure outcomes
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate to advanced - Raiser’s Edge
• Outstanding verbal skills: able to quickly establish rapport with colleagues/public
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to articulate the mission
• Polished writing skills, including proofing and editing
• Ability to exercise good judgment
• Exceptional organizational skills, attentive to detail
• Ability to drive projects through to completion and meet deadlines
• Exceptional accuracy and confidentiality dealing with donor information
• Ability to distinguish “special cases” or exceptions in routine situations
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Passion, kindness and a sense of humor is encouraged and appreciated

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Occasional travel within the Bay Area; and to/from Yosemite National Park; some weekend and evening responsibilities
• Predominately works at desk/computer workstation
• High degree of phone use
• Frequently moves about the office to collaborate with colleagues
• Occasionally may walk on uneven ground while on trails in Yosemite National Park
• Lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 30lbs.
