Ayusa is seeking a Director of Placements to join our team of dedicated people who work towards fostering international friendships and cultural understanding. Position Summary:

We are seeking a Director of Placements whom will be responsible for developing and training Ayusa’s national field staff network in order to provide quality program services to Ayusa participants. These responsibilities are to be carried out in a professional manner with careful attention to appropriate field staff recruiting, budgeting, cost control, and effective and efficient management procedures while maintaining a positive and cooperative image of Ayusa.

The Director of Placements specific responsibilities include the following:

•Effectively develops and trains Regional Managers and national field staff network.
•Ensures all Ayusa students are placed in compliant and quality homes and schools in a timely manner.
•Analyzes industry placement trends and setting regional placement goals accordingly.
•Provides highest level of customer service to field staff, students, host families, and schools.
•Ensures that Ayusa’s program policies and those of the U.S. Department of State and CSIET (Council on Standards and International Educational Travel) are maintained.
•Provides an effective communication link between the Regional Managers and the San Francisco office staff for program operations.
•Provides supervision, support, leadership, materials, effective communication and timely information to Regional Managers and to ensure Ayusa’s policies and procedures are fully understood and complied with.
•Sets field program policies and procedures.
•Manages field staff payroll and expense reporting system.
•Oversees the development of incentives and monitors placement performance and identifies strategies to correct low performing staff.
•Oversees management of field operational issues and crises.
•Supports field staff with conflict resolution, motivation, and problem solving.
•Authorizes cross-regional moves.
•Provides analysis on final placement statistics per season.
•Responsible for annual conference, RM in person and conference call, and field staff trip content and implementation (implementation in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Compliance)
•Prepares and reviews all compliance audit materials.
•Identifies domestic marketing needs and interfaces with the Marketing Department on domestic marketing execution.
•Serves as part of Ayusa Directors Management Team.
•Responsible for coordinating with Director of Operations and Compliance in terms of IT processes/procedures that impact the placement and support of participants.

Qualifications:

•5 to 7 years related to the duties and responsiblities specified
•Bachelor’s degree or higher
•5-10 years direct management experience
•Strong preference for international or cross-cultural experience; second/third language skills a definite plus

•Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
