We are seeking an energetic, creative, and detail-oriented individual to join WHYY’s Community Relations team. This position develops, plans and implements initiatives and activities to promote and market WHYY throughout the region in order to attract and maximize member engagement and attainment. Major duties include planning and execution of fundraising initiatives to assist department in meeting its revenue goals, planning and supporting large scale events to attract and retain awareness of WHYY and its membership base, and acquiring and managing event based grants. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in business, PR/marketing, or the equivalent knowledge. Two to three years experience with fundraising responsibility in a membership organization is essential; prior experience with event planning, public broadcasting, email/online marketing, grant writing and management is a plus. Well-developed presentation and interpersonal skills are required to communicate with audience members to make them feel at ease. Must be able to support and attend all events which require odd hours including weekends and weeknights on a regular basis. A valid driver's license is required.
