Information Technology (IT) Manager

DESCRIPTION: This position is primarily responsible for leading the information technology department by establishing and maintaining the IT functions, policies, and goals that support the organization's IT needs. The IT Manager is also responsible for all MIS-related projects and the day-to-day management of the IT team, including any and all consultants, and provides technical and professional leadership and assistance to all Electronic Health Records (EHR) users.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Knowledge of:
-Troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues in a Windows network
-Windows operating systems and PC hardware components and overall proficiency with these components.
-Email protocols in a Microsoft Exchange environment
-Healthcare and/or Management Information Systems
-PC usage, Windows and Microsoft Office applications
-Practice management systems, Electronic Health Records, and Electronic Dental Health Records are preferred.
-Project management skills.
-Superior knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC hardware components and overall proficiency with these components.
-Possess extensive knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications including Office, Excel, Project, Access, and Outlook.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-Graduate of an accredited college with a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT, MIS, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an IT position
-Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a leadership role managing department resources and supervising staff.
-Previous experience in managed care organization, healthcare facility, non-profit, community health center, medical office or dental office setting is highly desirable.
-Proven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows XP, Windows VISTA, or Windows 7.
-Experience designing, administering, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN in a Windows 2003 network infrastructure.
-Working knowledge of Practice Management systems support files, including Sage’s Intergy, Practice Analytics, and POMIS/EHR, is preferred.

LICENSES and/or CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

IT certifications include CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ and/or Microsoft Certified Professional in any Windows Server 2003 core exam or Microsoft Certified IT Professional in a Windows 2008 exam, preferably Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)
