Accounting Director

Seneca Family of Agencies is a statewide non-profit agency serving children and families since 1985. With an annual budget of $70-$75 million, Seneca is looking for an experienced Accounting Director with expertise handling blended funding streams. The Accounting Director provides oversight of the financial accounting systems for cash management. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Accounting Director will complete projects related to cost reporting, cash flow analysis, contract reports and audit preparation.

Responsibilities:
• Reviews and analyzes monthly financial statements and reports
• Manages the cash flow and prepares cash flow forecasts in accordance with agency policies
• Performs special financial research tasks including projections and historical analysis of income and expense for the agency
• Prepares annual county cost reports
• Communicates with outside counties and agencies to manage and monitor contractual obligations
• Supervises the Accounting Assistant Director
• Documents and maintains complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
• Oversees agency wide annual audit
• Provides oversight of the monthly close to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Interfaces with agency management team regarding program financial needs
• Additional responsibilities as requested by the CFO, COO and President

Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in finance or accounting from an accredited university required, MBA or CPA preferred
• Five to seven years of management experience in the nonprofit sector, preferably in the behavioral health field
• Expert level in Excel and experience generating complex spreadsheets
• MAS 200 and Kronos experience a plus
• Proven ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be highly analytical with strong attention to detail
• Strong ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to obtain fingerprint clearances with the DOJ, FBI and Child Abuse Index Check and a clear TB test and health screening
• Must possess a valid California drivers license
