The Development Associate serves as an integral member of Notre Dame’s development team. With the team, the Development Associate is responsible for the execution of a robust annual giving program and parent, alumnae and broader constituent relations program that meet the goals and financial targets outlined in an annual Comprehensive Development Plan.
•Develop and foster a climate of relationship building among all constituencies: parents, alumnae, faculty/staff, past parents, friends of Notre Dame, downtown business associates, in order to increase human and financial resources for NDSJ
•Partner with development department staff to ensure effective program planning and implementation of all departmental campaign and event goals
•Prospect, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with goal to generate increased financial resources; leverage $1,000 and above solicitations with personal visits
•Maintain and manage an active portfolio of prospects and donors, across all constituents, and develop individual strategies for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts
•Mine Raiser’s Edge data for leadership, major and planned giving prospects
•Regularly enter prospect and donor and alumnae contact information into RE, with careful regard for donor relations “intelligence”
•Regularly contribute alumnae and community highlights/information for website and printed marketing/ communication publications
•Assist with development department special events and projects as requested and/or needed; participate in the prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation of event sponsorships
•Assist with management of Annual Fund (materials, timeline, strategies, etc.)
•Research and write grant proposals as necessary
•Perform other job duties as assigned
•Two years of successful fundraising experience, including special events logistics, solicitation of in-kind donations and volunteer coordination
•Strong database experience
•Experience with Raiser’s Edge
•Must be able to interact with parents, students, volunteers and donors in a pleasant and professional manner.
