Cottage Housing, Inc. – develops healing communities that are participant-driven, strength-based and solutions-oriented, where homeless people help themselves and each other make the transition from the streets to self-sustainability.
Job Description:
- Provide top leadership direction, fundraising support, and accountability for agency.
-In cooperation with the Board and in accordance with the by-laws, create and implement a long-range financial sustainability strategy to achieve agency mission in a consistent and timely manner.
-Pursue and secure operational and unrestricted funding from government and private program sources, charitable foundations and the general public.
-Establish sound financial management controls while working with staff to ensure long term sustainability and stability.
-Serve as the “face” of Cottage Housing in the community in areas relating to funding initiatives, outreach, and public relations.
-Work cooperatively with an engaged non-profit Board of Directors to ensure all governance requirements for the organization are fulfilled.
-Maintain working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field of homelessness.

| Certifications | -Experience in managing a non-profit multi-faceted social service agency. -Familiarity in navigating issues associated with homelessness. -Strong understanding of public financing processes (e.g. HUD, FEMA, County and other related grant processes) and reporting requirements. -Proven ability to mobilize program participants, alumni, and staff in activities which raise the visibility of Cottage Housing in the community. -Proven fundraising experience. At least 2 years experience in conducting successful, high-level fundraising activities of a minimum $1 million, including but not limited to major donor and foundation solicitations with emphasis on Federal and local grant programs. -Ability to effectively engage key stakeholders in the community including business, civic, government, and religious leaders. -Project management experience. Demonstrated leadership capabilities to achieve productive, high-quality work. -Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Social Welfare or related field. Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience, or Master’s degree with 2 years experience. |
