Working in underserved regions in 13 countries throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America, ReSurge reaches, empowers and partners with volunteers and oversees medical professionals so every child living in poverty has access to the safest and highest quality reconstructive care.

Reporting to the chief development officer, the associate director of corporate and foundation relations will lead, direct and coordinate fundraising activities to secure $2 million annually from foundations and corporations. Specifically, the director will work closely with board members and stakeholders to strategically plan and manage the foundation and corporate operation to meet fundraising goals. This work includes maintaining ongoing relationships with institutional and family foundation donors and working hands-on to cultivate, solicit and renew donors.

Qualified candidates should possess excellent leadership, communication (both verbal and writing) and computer skills. They must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes, effectively work under pressure, juggle multiple complex projects at the same time, use independent judgment and produce quality work product within tight time constraints.

Previous experience should include a proven track record in securing new funding opportunities in the international development/health field, comprehensive knowledge of researching funding opportunities and the ability to distinguish funding solicitations to support ReSurge’s programs.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Meet goal of $2 million for fiscal year 2013 (July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013)
• Develop a solid understanding of and be able to articulate ReSurge’s mission, programs, history, policies, culture and values
• Work with the program and development team to develop, identify and articulate program goals and funding needs
• Research foundations and corporate prospects, and implement a strategy to cultivate new potential donors to build ReSurge’s base of support
• Cultivate and steward new relationships with corporate and foundation leaders
• Manage a profile of 50+ corporate and foundation relationships
• Ensure the preparation of high-quality grant proposals, reports, and correspondence; coordinate budgetary and program information across the organization; monitor the proposal review process
• Design, implement, and monitor initiatives to achieve significant revenue goals, with a particular focus on income diversification
• Write letters of Intent to foundations and other funders
• Maintain a calendar to include all grant cultivation and stewardship activities

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, database-related software applications and other office equipment required
• Ability to build and maintain working relationships with a diverse population
• Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Ability to conceptualize as well as attend to detail
• Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize tasks/projects while keeping appropriate personnel apprised of status on a regular basis
• Strong initiative and follow-through skills
• Ability to work successfully under pressure and to handle competing priorities with minimal supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to prepare, read, analyze and interpret documents

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of five years experience in fundraising preferred
• Non-profit or related industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of international development work desired
