POSITION PURPOSE:

The Director of National and Corporate Partnerships position is responsible for securing, implementing and stewarding corporate fundraising partnerships with national Make-A-Wish stakeholders within Georgia. Optimizing income though effective relationship-building, positioning of best practices, and collaborating within nationally agreed upon program parameters will be critical for success. These programs often involve consumer based fundraising efforts within the business environment, including customer “point of purchase” contributions or corporate support through a percentage of sales, etc. Growing current relationships and identifying, cultivating and recruiting new local partners for national corporate fundraising programs will further grow revenue to support the granting of wishes in Georgia, and beyond. Coordination with volunteers and staff locally and nationally is a must. This position will also be responsible for directly developing strategies and collaterals to expand employee workplace giving programs within Georgia. Prospecting, cultivating, securing and stewarding workplace giving companies is needed to gain additional support to grant the growing number of needed wishes in Georgia. The 2013 fundraising goal of this Director of National Corporate Partnerships position is to raise $650,000 - $800,000.

Status: Open – Full-Time
Starting Annual Salary: $35,000 - $50,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Direct Reports: Administrative Support Shared by the Development Team

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works in collaboration with the Make-A-Wish America to fully engage, manage, and steward local relationships of National and Corporate partnerships
• Optimizes local revenue opportunities of National and Corporate Partnerships, pursuing their full activation within Georgia
• Develops ongoing dialogue with local corporate representatives, ensuring that activities are implemented in accordance within national agreements and organizational policies and procedures
• Proactively addresses all local opportunities, issues, and challenges of National Partnerships, communicating them to Make-A-Wish America as needed
• When appropriate, engages and integrates other functions of the Chapter, including Program Services and Communications, into the execution of corporate partnership efforts
• Recruits, trains and manages volunteers to fully capture opportunities when activating corporate partnerships
• Develops, implements and evaluates strategies to increase fundraising income through Employee Workplace Giving in Georgia
• Proactively builds the elements of the Employee Workplace Giving program, including recruitment, implementation, renewal and recognition
• Defines and implements needed volunteer structures within and outside companies to effectively implement Employee Workplace Giving
• Works collaboratively with members of the Development staff team as well as all other Chapter staff
• Proactively coordinates corporate contacts and meetings with other members of the Development team to assure seamless customer interactions
• Attends fundraising events or programs as appropriate; may represent the Chapter through presentations to various constituencies
• Possesses outstanding written/verbal communications and presentation skills, as well as critical thinking and analytical abilities
• Regularly records significant donor contacts in the Chapter’s database, running important fundraising reports to manage efforts and achieve goals
• Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information
• A minimum of three years’ experience in successful corporate fundraising required
• Experience with “Raiser’s Edge” software preferred
