SF State is looking for an accomplished fundraising professional with executive level management experience to lead the university’s development fundraising efforts as the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Development. Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, the AVP will serve on advancement’s senior management team and oversee all facets of individual giving for the university.
In consultation with the President of the University and the Vice President of University Advancement, the successful candidate will oversee major fundraising initiatives, including the completion of the $12M Student First scholarship campaign designed to engage alumni and raise awareness of the need for scholarship support. The university is also in the early stages of preparing for a comprehensive campaign. This leadership position is an excellent opportunity to lead a team of engaged development professionals, alumni and friends in realizing the university’s fundraising potential.
Highlights of responsibilities:
• Lead a university development staff of twenty-two professionals, including directors of development, foundation relations, planned giving, prospect research and administrative staff.
• Manage all activities related to the planning, implementation and tracking of multi-year fundraising campaigns and initiatives that support SF State’s mission.
• Personally cultivate and solicit major gifts and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Coordinate an effective program for recognition, involvement and stewardship of major and special gifts donors.
