DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Primary Duties:
Outreach Responsibilities
• Initiates, coordinates, and organizes SOT outreach and trainings with social service agencies and street outreach in the Hispanic community;
• Participates in and presents at trainings and events for a range of audiences in Spanish;
• Translates as appropriate/needed
Case Management Responsibilities:
• Be responsible with program director for participating in the response to emergency and non-emergency calls from victims of human trafficking;
• Effectively support existing relationships with referral organizations and agencies throughout the anti-trafficking and related fields;
• Assists survivors of human trafficking to obtain allowed public benefits, medical care, counseling, legal services and housing;
• Under supervision assists with grant reporting duties to funders of the Survivors of Human Trafficking program;
• Performs administrative support services; and performs other program or agency-related duties or special projects as directed.
• Maintains complete and accurate records of clients and services provided and provides program data as required
Secondary Duties:
• Establishes and enhances relationships in the community and service area which facilitates access and referrals to Opening Doors programs and services
• Develops and prepares grant proposals in conjunction with the Program Director and the Deputy Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to perform the duties described above
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, International Relations or other related social service fields is required
• Two to five years related experience in one or more of the following areas: social work, education, health services, counseling, mental health
• Competence with Microsoft Office including Excel
REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluent in speaking, reading and writing in Spanish and English. Additional languages a plus
• Clear understanding that client data received in the course of ODI’s work is strictly confidential and that breach of confidentiality is cause for immediate termination
• Availability and willingness to participate in events or activities outside of the 9am-5pm Monday through Friday work
• A well-maintained personal vehicle, a valid California driver’s license, good driving record and active vehicle insurance. (Mileage reimbursement will be provided for use of personal vehicle for performance of duties.)
• High degree of organization to manage multiple clients, priorities and projects simultaneously
• Excellent decision making and priority setting abilities.
• Experience working with men, women and LGBTQ clients in traumatic circumstances
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a multicultural team environment
• Effective oral and written communication skills
