The Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) cultivates Jewish culture and values, builds community, and develops leadership on the North Peninsula of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our excellent educational, cultural, and recreational programs create a vibrant, inviting gathering place where people of all backgrounds and ages feel at home. The Early Childhood Education (ECE) at the PJCC, located in Foster City, 20 minutes south of San Francisco, is a home away from home for over 300 children ages two years through pre-kindergarten. Our curriculum emphasizes the values of responsibility, dignity, kindness, community, tradition, generosity and respect. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY The Early Childhood Education Director is the leader of the PJCC’s highly successful and recognized preschool programs, who, through strategic thinking, direction, and mentoring, effectively articulates and supervises the implementation of the vision for these programs, which includes the PJCC’s guiding principles, and ECE core values that are focused on teachers, and children and their families. The ECE program consists of over 300 children and 45 staff. This position works diligently to ensure that the programs and activities are effective and performed at a progressively high level with appropriate resources. The Director’s responsibilities include department management and leadership, strategic planning, program and curriculum development, staff development, budgeting, marketing and communications to diverse constituencies, enrollment recruitment, vendor contracting, and licensing compliance.
