Compass Housing Alliance (CHA) is seeking a new Executive Director who possesses a deep understanding and compassion for low-income individuals and families, the working poor, and people experiencing homelessness, and the difficulties they face.
CHA provides a range of services and housing options to people struggling with homelessness and poverty in the Seattle area. CHA’s focus area falls into three categories: day services, shelter, case management, and transitional housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, permanent low-income housing for individuals or families who do not make a living wage or were homeless, and development of affordable housing units for low-income tenants.
The ED is responsible for overall management of the administration and operation of CHA and leading its mission. The ED supervises the team of directors and oversees the day-to-day operations, as well as directs and delivers the annual operating budget to the Board of Directors. The ED also collaborates with the Board and staff to develop long-range strategic plans and annual operating goals and sources and leads opportunities for real estate development and opportunities.
The ED serves as lead spokesperson and as a key fundraiser for the organization interacting with a variety of stakeholders and funders. The ED also serves as Board liaison to the staff attending all Board meetings as an ex officio member of the Board and its Executive Committee.
Competitive candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in a closely related field. A related advanced degree would be highly advantageous, as would a record of continuous professional development and training.
Candidates who possess experience in real estate development, asset management or housing development (ideally focused on low-income or affordable housing) coupled with significant experience leading operations and administration within a sizable organization or division/department would be considered competitive.
