Jewish Vocational Service, a non-sectarian, not-for-profit corporation with a current operating budget of $7 million, is seeking a skilled and dynamic finance professional to serve as its Director of Finance.
Summary of Position
The Director of Finance provides leadership and oversight for the financial, contractual and risk management functions at JVS. This includes responsibility for the financial forecasting, planning and budgeting processes of the agency.
This position directs both finance and accounting functions and also requires hands-on work and the ability to develop and manage complex financial and operational systems in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial direct service setting, and to work closely and collaboratively with agency management, board and staff. This position also requires strong interpersonal, analytical problem-solving skills and a commitment to ensuring organizational excellence. The Director of Finance reports directly to the Executive Director of JVS and, as a member of the JVS Executive Management Team, is directly involved with strategic planning, business development and overall agency management. Current projects include conversion to SAGE software, new tools for budget development and analysis and pending expiration of current lease and search for new space options. This position provides supervision to the Grants Coordinator and Accounts Payable positions.
