The Associate Development Director for Grants is responsible identifying, cultivating and soliciting sources of funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources for Lutheran Services of Georgia. This position is also responsible for researching, planning, and implementing grant solicitation strategies to support new and ongoing programs in cooperation with operations, finance, and programs, and leading in the preparation of proposals. This job description will be reviewed in six months from the time of hire and revised as appropriate.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, e.g. English, journalism, social work, psychology. Minimum three to five years’ experience in developing grant proposals and securing grants. Self-motivated to seek out new funding opportunities. Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills. Experience handling multiple priorities. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word (e.g. mail merge, tables), Excel (e.g. creating and using basic spreadsheets), and PowerPoint (e.g. creating basic presentations). Excellent planning and organizing skills. Experience handling multiple priorities. Good interpersonal skills working with people inside and outside the agency.
