Executive Director
Outdoor Outreach is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial visionary to lead its highly successful San Diego program as its founder transitions to focus on national initiatives for the organization.
Outdoor Outreach is a nationally recognized San Diego based nonprofit organization whose programs support underserved and at-risk youth. Their unique program model utilizes outdoor physical experiences combined with academic and social support to provide youth with the support, relationships, resources and opportunities they need to become successful adults. Since their founding in 1999, they have taken more than 6,800 youth on over 2,000 outings, including rock climbing, snowboarding, surfing, snorkeling, mountain biking and backpacking. The Outdoor Outreach model has produced amazing results: Over the last four years, serving youth in schools with graduation rates between 45%-60%, 100% of Outdoor Outreach participants have graduated with 95% moving on to college.
The Executive Director position provides a challenging and meaningful opportunity for a leader with a love of the outdoors, a passion for serving youth, and strong relationship-building skills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Commitment to the Outdoor Outreach mission, vision and values
• 5-10 years of leadership experience with demonstrated success in an executive position managing and mentoring professional level direct and indirect staff. Experience in the nonprofit human services sector will be considered favorably.
• Comprehensive management skills including but not limited to short- and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, team building, financial acumen, and governance of a nonprofit organization.
• Experience with nonprofit growth and development, including demonstrated ability to increase revenue, grow budget, and increase strategic programs and partnerships.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in youth development and/or outdoor education related field is preferred

COMPENSATION
Salary range is $60,000-$70,000 annually.
