The Manager of Advancement Events engages in planning, conceptualizing, implementing and managing all fundraising, donor cultivation, alumni and stewardship events at De La Salle High School. This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and supports the Office of Advancement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership, professional expertise, and direction in the planning and execution of high quality events and functions, and ensure that the De La Salle mission and priorities are reflected in the planning and presentation of all events, including but not limited to the annual President’s Circle Reception, De La Salle Golf Classic and Classic Evening, and the Taste of De La Salle.
Implement each event including themes, marketing strategies, timetables and budgets, managed against revenue expectations.
Secure sponsorships, donations and/or manage ticket sales for events.
Partner with the Director of Alumni Relations on the successful implementation of events in support of efforts to improve alumni relationships with De La Salle. Specifically, provide event management of the Br. Maris Golf Tournament, Class Reunions, the Athletic Hall Fame, and regional/seasonal alumni events.
Partner with the Auction Coordinator to manage logistics for the annual F.E.T.E. Auction fundraising gala.
Provide event planning expertise and oversight to the De La Salle High School Parent Association with regard to the planning and execution of events including annual Crab Feed, Class Liturgies, Mother/Son Brunch and Junior Unity Ceremony.
Serve as an event planner for other De La Salle High School special events as needed.
Prepare pre- and post-event analysis, and assess opportunities and make recommendations for improving service to internal and external constituencies, and implement those improvements as appropriate.
Maintain accurate event and attendee records.
Maintain event office supplies, equipment, materials and files.
Attend events as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer or President.

|Certifications||TECHNICAL & PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: Experience and proficiency using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software, Microsoft Windows, MS Office (Word and Excel), and MS Outlook. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Proven ability to manage events in support of a comprehensive fund raising program required. Experience with graphic design and layout preferred. Ability to use a variety of web communication and marketing platforms preferred. Experience with web event management and auction event software preferred. Due to the nature of this position, and in accordance with the needs of the scheduled events, must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Due to the physical nature of position, must be able to lift and move objects of weight 30 pounds or less. Must have a valid driver’s license. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Listen attentively and provide solutions. Meet deadlines consistently. Manage multiple projects and events at the same time. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires a minimum of 5 years of event planning experience in the educational or nonprofit industry. Bachelors degree preferred.|
