Summary:

Right To Play United States seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead and implement fundraising strategies primarily focused on high net worth individuals. The Director of Development will identify, prioritize, research and deepen relationships with donors who have unrealized potential giving, and motivate them toward a higher level of support with a customized and personal cultivation approach. The Director will report to and regularly engage in strategic fundraising planning with the U.S. National Director and on occasion, specific Board members who could be helpful with expanding the New York metro area donor community. The Director will also share an office and a regional focus with another Director out of the New York office.

The Director of Development will be responsible for meeting an annual target of $1M+, managing a broad portfolio of individual donors and working alongside a senior events manager on staff to deploy several events that cultivate and steward the RTP community. The Director will also have an Associate to provide administrative support as needed. This role offers a rare opportunity to build upon a loyal and engaged group of donors, inspiring them to increase their support while drawing upon RTP’s extraordinary assets including 100 professional and Olympic athlete ambassadors worldwide. This is a full-time position in New York City, New York.


Responsibilities:

The Director of Development will:
• Take responsibility for an approximate $1M+ annual funding target and meet this target through strategic identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors and prospects independently and jointly with RTP’s senior leadership and Board.
• Identify stewardship opportunities that keep donors engaged over the long-term and between tangible touch points including events and galas; provide input on potential Board candidates to engage and recruit to the US Board.
• Advise the National Director, the U.S. Board, CEO and leadership on top priorities and ensure the senior team is leveraged with top donor and organizational priorities; lead the follow up on staff donor meetings to cultivate relationships, solicit and secure gifts, and drive a customized stewardship plan for each major donor.
• Receive administrative support from a fundraising associate with potential for team to grow.
• Maintain a successful track record of building and sustaining relationships both externally and internally.
• Drive results collaboratively across all US regions and in partnership with a distributed national and international staff.
• Source and manage funding leads as well as implement strategic donor outreach opportunities, including events and RTP’s signature “Play Days” to engage a high net worth donor audience.
• Convey the charisma, cultural sensitivity, and communication skills necessary to tailor messages to various audiences and, in turn, be an effective representative of RTP to its diverse constituencies.

Compensation and Benefits:
