We seek a D.C.-based Administrative Assistant to assist two departments: accounting and finance as well as IT. This position plays a key role; daily responsibilities and tasks will help maximize efficiency in the operations of both departments. Essential responsibilities are to plan meetings; take minutes; manage the journal voucher filing system; maintain project invoices; process purchase order requests for IT purchases; collect and deposit cash receipts; organize the accounting and finance storage area; assist in audit preparation; prepare volunteer in-kind labor journal entries; assemble monthly financial report packages; and assist with basic accounting transactional processes. A bachelor’s degree in business or a related degree, plus a minimum of one year of relevant work experience, is highly desired. Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills, strong oral and written English skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to be a part of a highly functioning, dedicated team.
