CAMPAIGN AND DEVELOPMENT  PROJECT MANAGER

The Campaign and Development Project Manager is a vital member of the Development team who proactively coordinates, manages and implements the capital campaign, donor relations and stewardship projects.  By supporting the Development staff and executive leadership, she/he will provide sophisticated research, analysis and strategies to meet fundraising goals.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Campaign and Development Project Manager reports to the Director of Development and is responsible for managing and coordinating Development Department projects such as the capital campaign, the moves management system and donor recognition processes.  Working closely with the senior fundraising team, an important part of this role is strategic identification of key individuals capable and interested in providing substantial financial support to Yosemite Conservancy (Yosemite National Park), as well as partnering in the formation of cultivation plans.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manages Development Department projects, coordinates activities and monitors progress to ensure fundraising efforts are on plan and revenue goals are met
• Oversees implementation and on-going execution of department’s Moves Management System
• Serves as the campaign moves manager, tracking solicitor assignments and fundraising moves using Raiser’s Edge and other software tools from identification through stewardship
• Supports staff and volunteer campaign solicitors, helping them to be successful
• Supports Director of Development, members of the fundraising team and the President in meeting major gift revenue goals by researching major gifts prospects, preparing briefings for use by fundraisers, searching for new donors prospects within the donor database and working with Development staff to evaluate prospects
• Updates database with results and assigns prospects to portfolios as appropriate
• Prepares meeting materials including major gift reports, team and portfolio analysis
• Creates campaign activity tracking and reports, monitors campaign timelines and handles campaign logistics
• Oversees acknowledgement of all campaign gifts/pledges and manages pledge reminder process
• Supports event planning and execution as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree
• 4-6 years of related experience of experience in a fundraising nonprofit environment
• Commitment to the mission, values, goals, and success of the Yosemite Conservancy; knowledge of and interest in Yosemite National Park
• Analytical and strategic project management skills
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to drive projects through to completion and meet goals/objectives within budget and time constraints
• Demonstrated experience with MS Office, database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge
• Positive attitude and a warm friendly manner
• Willingness to work evening and weekends in support of events, occasionally in Yosemite National Park or other locations outside the San Francisco Bay Area

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Occasional travel within the Bay Area and to/from Yosemite National Park; some weekend and evening responsibilities
• Predominately works at desk/computer workstation; high degree of phone use
• Occasionally may walk on uneven ground while on trails in Yosemite National Park
