Individual Giving Manager

We are Atlanta’s oldest and largest provider of permanent supportive housing for low-income and homeless individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for increasing gift revenue from individuals living primarily, but not exclusively in the Atlanta area. This position strives to build relationships with new investors and steward and renew relationships with existing investors to Jerusalem House.

A dynamic and passionate spokesperson for Jerusalem House to the community beyond, the Individual Giving Manager inspires support through direct marketing, annual giving, tribute gifts, and giving societies and creates a mutually beneficial relationship between investors and Jerusalem House.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Manages all Individual Annual Fund Giving Programming (35%)

1. Designs and plans Annual Fund recruitment, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship of new and renewing individual donors through Direct Mail, Tribute Gifts, Unsolicited, and Online Giving.

2. Implements Annual Fund plan to meet or exceed budgetary requirements as determined by the annual budgeting process.

3. Provides monthly forecasts, reports, analysis and evaluation of Annual Fund program and status reporting to Director of Development, Department staff, Finance Department and the Development Committee of the Board of Directors

B. Manage all components of agency annual giving societies (50%)

1. Develop and implement an Individual Philanthropy Plan for two annual giving societies Young Professionals and major donor society called The Philanthropy Circle with gifts ranging from $500 to $25,000.

2. Implements Annual Fund plan to meet or exceed budgetary requirements as determined by the annual budgeting process. Research new prospects and cutting-edge philanthropic/fundraising/relationship theory. Plan and coordinate donor recruitment and appreciation events to maintain relationships with investors.

3. Provides monthly forecasts, reports, analysis and evaluation of Annual Fund program and status reporting to Director of Development, Department staff, Finance Department and the Development Committee of the Board of Directors

C. Manage Agency Online Communications (10%)

1. Design and implement a plan than ensures ongoing communication (meetings, phone conversations, emails, thank you notes, etc.) personalized for Jerusalem House Donors.

2. Design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate Email marketing to include, E-newsletters, special direct marketing appeals, special announcements, and Action Alerts using online electronic software.

D. Departmental Assistance and Support

1. Assist the Development Department staff in the successful implementation of the overall agency development plan.

2. Other duties as needed and assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass criminal background check

Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• A minimum of three years of fundraising experience, with particular emphasis in
individual donors preferred
• Experience building and maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with
donors

Demonstrated ability to:
•Clearly communicate agency history, plans, policies and procedures, orally and in writing
• Stimulate the interest and enlist the cooperation of others

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully:
• With all levels of the Jerusalem House organization: Board of Directors, Staff,
volunteers, investors and residents

Working knowledge of:
• HIV/AIDS and related issues as they correlate to investment by donors
• Knowledge of the purpose, organization, and goals of an active, forward-thinking
Development Department
• Relationship development theory
