Job Description:
The Library Director will be responsible for coordinating and managing the
library, and helping to develop programming that allows our community to
better utilize and benefit from the library’s resources.
Qualifications/Skills:
-Bachelors Degree (or currently working toward a Bachelors Degree) from an
accredited college or university
-Experience teaching or in other education based settings
-Broad knowledge of literature
-Strong orgranizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Ability and desire to connect with, care for, and empower students of all ages
-Knowledge of Mac computer and technology resources
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
-Create a caring, welcoming, and engaging environment for students and
families in our community
-Maintain the library’s book and resource distribution systems
-Create and keep regular hours that make the library’s resources available to
the community
-Help to create programing that utilizes the library’s resources, helps to
empower students to engage with and enjoy literature, and addresses needs
of the community as a whole.
-Help to develop the library to reach all age groups in the community and to
operate as a community hub
-Coordinate with other staff, area schools and organizations to create learning
opportunities through the library.
-Manage and lead library volunteers
-Other duties as needed that help serve FamilyPoint’s mission in the
Nottingham Park Area.
Employment Details:
-The Library Director Position is part time with potential to move to full time as
the position develops.
