Sr. Director of Programs - Housing Services

Reporting to the Chief Programs Officer (CPO), the Senior Director of Programs - Housing Services will be responsible for the operational success of MUST’s Housing Services Program ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. In this newly established role, the Sr Director will manage a growing staff of 3-5 direct reports, along with up to 12-15 additional program staff. The Sr Director will be an important external face of MUST in the community, and oversee a full continuum of stable housing options. The primary responsibilities include:

Leadership:

-Cultivate relationships with partners with the goal of ensuring sufficient space and resources, access to services, and growth to meet MUST’s strategic goals
-Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas
-Sponsor an environment of collaboration and community impact

Team Management and Development:

-Develop and implement a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff
-Implement a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps
-Work with staff to develop objective performance measurements across all sites, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all employees
-Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organization performance standards
-Recruit, hire, and oversee training and orientation of all staff members

Program Operational Management:

-Using the existing program dashboard; establish consistent, objective program performance standards of accountability
-Provide oversight for relevant program budgets, balancing efficiency with effective outcome driven delivery


General Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with team management experience to grow and further develop a proven program area. The successful candidate will lead programs, partner with the CPO and work collaboratively with a high-performance management team. Please note this position is responsible for a large program. Requirements include:

-Minimum of a Bachelors in a relevant field, Masters strongly preferred
-At least 10 years of experience with 3 of those in a team management role
-Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully implementing innovative programs
-Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience implementing program evaluation systems
-Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
-Experience managing against grant funding performance standards
-Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
-Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance
-Deep understanding of human resources, employee performance improvement plans, and corrective action policies
-Demonstrated results in managing through complex systems and proven experience negotiating win-win agreements
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
-Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for MUST’s mission


Specific Qualifications

-Familiarity with social service and state agency providing housing models
-Understanding of federal regulations which pertain to providing housing assistance, especially the HEARTH Act of 2009
-Advanced knowledge and/or experience with case management tools and techniques
-Direct experience with at least one of the following federally funding housing programs:
- Emergency Shelter

- Supportive Housing

- Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing

- Other government funded residential program



Physical and Work Requirements:

-Work is performed in an office environment, although some daily travel is required.
-Access to reliable transportation and successful completion of DMV background check is required.
-May be required to lift up to 10 lbs.
-Requires sitting, standing, sufficient mobility and physical reflexes.
