The Development Director leads and conducts fund-raising efforts for our organization. He/she plans for each fiscal year’s actions, goals, budgets and schedules for philanthropic contributions including individual, corporate and foundation support, special events, marketing and communications, and database management. Current responsibilities include management of the following: cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual, corporate and foundation prospects and donors; fund-raising special events, communications (including newsletters, social media and public relations), image library, video assets and overseeing the constituent database management system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund-Raising
Events
Manage strategic implementation of fund-raising events to ensure a positive volunteer and donor experience, attract philanthropic support, and engage the larger community in the organization’s mission. Events include:
Camp Kudzu Benefit Luncheon
Sugar Bowl and Laser Tag Tournament
Kudzu Cup fore! Kids Golf Tournament
Third Party Events
Corporate Support
Identify, cultivate and solicit new prospects
Manage and steward current donor and sponsorship relationships
Develop and maintain collateral material, including electronic presentation packets and delivery methods
Foundation Support (currently led by another staff member)
Identify foundations whose interests and priorities align with Camp Kudzu
Establish and manage foundation relationships
Manage grant process – proposals and reporting
Individual Donors (currently led by another staff member)
Identify, cultivate and solicit new prospects
Manage and steward current donor and sponsorship relationships
Civic Organizations
Cultivate relationships to broaden Camp Kudzu’s reach in community
Define metrics to track outcomes of cultivation efforts
Constituent Database Management System
Manage policy and procedure regarding Camp Kudzu’s donor database systems
Track development efforts, prospects and donors within the database
Provide reporting to Executive Director and Development Committee, where appropriate
Communications
Manage the creation of Kudzu Coverage, 3-4 annually, including one “annual report” edition
Create monthly E-News
Publicity
Manage social media
Administrative
Budget for the development functions listed above
Participate in staff meetings and retreats
Represent Camp Kudzu in the community
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 6 years experience in nonprofit development
B. A. or B.S. degree
Excellent interpersonal communications, analytical and presentation skills
Proficiency in Micrsoft Office Suite and constituent database management systems
